The first female calf born from use of Sexcel, our proprietary sexed genetics product, within India arrived on 6 March 2018.
Arshi, as she has been named, illustrates how Sexcel can help farmers be more confident about producing female calves, rather than unwanted male offspring (which cannot contribute to milk production but, as sacred animals, cannot be culled: leaving farmers with costly, non-productive animals). (Sexcel is being produced locally in India, which keeps prices affordable for local farmers, and uses high-quality ABS genetics. As more farmers take advantage of it, Sexcel will enhance the production, availability and quality of milk across India.
